Summer has come and gone for another year and this is the end of my second week of my last year at school. Since it’s a Friday it means I’m doing my usual shit just hanging out with Madison. I haven’t seen Spencer since that night at the party. I’m speaking too soon though. See my mother’s out of town for the weekend, it rarely happens, but when it does I really don’t like being in the house all on my own because I am the biggest shitbag I know, and with the amount of horror movies I’ve seen; staying in the house too long on my own would fuck me up, therefore I’m hanging around with Madison until I really need to go home to sleep. Sitting in Madison’s house at a little after 8pm I get a text from, yeah you guessed it, Spencer Carlin.

Spencer: {Hey, are you home?}

Ashley: {No, I’m at Madison’s. What’s up? Are you okay?} I text back straight away, and wait impatiently for a reply.

Spencer: {Yeah, I was just gonna ask if I could come over if you were at home.}

Ashley: {Well where are you now? I’ll come and meet you.}

Spencer: {I was walking towards your house. It’s fine, I’ll see you another time, have fun with Mads. Xx} I quickly ask Madison if it’ll be alright for us to go and meet Spencer seeing as we’re not really doing much right now and as soon as she says it’s cool I text her back as we begin the short walk towards my house.

Ashley: {Mads and I are on our way to meet you now. We’ll catch you at the end of my road. X}

As we approach the end of my road I see Spencer sitting on a wall, she’s sitting with her head down looking into her lap so she doesn’t notice as I’m finally standing next to her leaning against the wall. There’s something not right with her, I can tell that as I look at her now, the fact that she’s here at all gives her away immediately, but I won’t push it now, not with Madison here.

“Hey.” I whisper in to her ear, which seems to shock her as her head snaps up. She then jumps off of the wall and pulls me in for a hug. I sigh contentedly as I breathe her in and those all too familiar tingles settle all over my skin so I go to pull away, but as I do Spencer only clings tighter to my back so I hold on for a little while longer.
